StudyDerm is operated by FINTECH SERVICES LTD ("Fintech Services Limited"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13338780, registered office Apollo House, Hallam Way, Whitehills Business Park, Blackpool, England, FY4 5FS, trading as StudyDerm.

1. What StudyDerm is and is not

1.1 StudyDerm is an unofficial study aid for the UK Dermatology Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE).

1.2 StudyDerm is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, MRCP(UK) or any examining body.

1.3 StudyDerm is not clinical advice. Do not use it to decide how to treat a patient, and do not rely on it for patient care. Always check current national guidance and your local policy. Where StudyDerm and a current guideline differ, follow the guideline and tell us.

1.4 We do not promise, and unless it results from our failure to use reasonable care and skill or our breach of the terms we take no responsibility for, any exam result, mark, performance or career outcome. We do not guarantee that you will pass any exam, and we make no claim about pass rates. Scores, XP, streaks, ranks and other progress indicators in StudyDerm are practice features. They are not predictions of how you will do in any exam. See the Terms of Service, "No promise or responsibility for your results".

1.5 Please do not enter patient-identifiable information anywhere in StudyDerm. In a "type your answer" question, type only your answer, never anything about a real patient. All the clinical scenarios in StudyDerm are invented.

2. How we check our content

We want to be exact about this, because you rely on it.

2.1 Every question, answer option, explanation, source link, unit description and statement of exam facts goes through a documented review process before learners can see it. It is checked against the sources it cites. Anything that has not been approved is hidden by the app. If content is changed after it has been checked, it is hidden again until it is checked again.

2.2 This is not clinical sign-off. No doctor, royal college, examining body or clinical organisation has approved or endorsed the content, and we do not say or imply that they have.

2.3 What the review process requires:

2.4 An item is shown only once every required check has approved that exact version, with no open issue and at least one source actually opened. If any check asks for changes, the item is not shown until it has been fixed and checked again.

2.5 Limits. A review process can be wrong or miss things. Errors are possible. Sources change, and a guideline may be updated after an item was checked. Some sources are paywalled or block automated access, which can limit what can be opened. A record of approvals does not mean an item is free from error. That is why we ask you to report anything that looks wrong.

2.6 We keep a record of each review and its outcome.

3. Reporting an error or a suspected inaccuracy

3.1 If you think a question, answer, explanation, source link or fact is wrong, out of date or unclear, email support@studyderm.app. Please include:

3.2 What we do:

  1. Acknowledge your report within 2 working days.
  2. Review it promptly. We check it against the cited source and the current version of the guidance. A suspected clinical error is treated as urgent.
  3. Act. If the content is shown to be wrong, we hide or correct it. Corrected content goes back through the same review process before learners see it again. If we decide not to change it, we tell you why.
  4. Reply to you with the outcome. If we need longer, we say so and give a new date.
  5. Log the report, the decision and the change.

4. Complaints procedure

4.1 A complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction about StudyDerm, including its content, billing, support or how we handled a report.

4.2 How to complain: email support@studyderm.app with the word "Complaint" in the subject line, your account email address and what has gone wrong. You can also write to us at the registered office above.

4.3 Steps and timescales. This is the complaints process for StudyDerm. Our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Cancellation and Refunds Policy all refer to it.

  1. We acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days.
  2. Someone who was not involved in the original issue looks into it where practical.
  3. We send our final response within 15 working days of your complaint. If we cannot, we write to say why and when to expect an answer.
  4. If you are not happy, you can ask for a second review by a director of the company. We reply within 15 working days of your request.

4.4 Alternative dispute resolution (ADR). We have not joined an ADR scheme. When we tell you the outcome of a complaint, we will tell you about any ADR or other arrangement that is available, as section 308 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 requires. You can also seek advice from Citizens Advice, and you keep your legal rights, including the right to go to court. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.

4.5 Complaints about how we use your personal data follow the Privacy Policy. Please write to privacy@studyderm.app. We acknowledge them within 30 days and reply within one month.

4.6 Billing and refund questions are covered in the Terms of Service and the Cancellation and Refunds Policy. The complaints process above applies to those too.

5. Intellectual property and takedown

5.1 If you believe any content, image or credit in StudyDerm infringes your rights, or is credited wrongly, email support@studyderm.app with the page or question, what you believe is wrong and how to contact you.

5.2 We will acknowledge within 2 working days, remove or correct the item quickly where the concern looks credible, and then investigate. We keep a log.

5.3 Credits and licences for images are listed on our Image Attribution page.
