Accessibility Statement for StudyDerm
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This statement applies to the StudyDerm website at studyderm.app and the StudyDerm app at my.studyderm.app. They are run by FINTECH SERVICES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13338780), trading as StudyDerm.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use StudyDerm. You should be able to use it with a keyboard, zoom in, and use your device's colour and reduced-motion settings.
1. How accessible StudyDerm is
1.1 We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We have not yet had a formal external audit, so we do not claim that StudyDerm meets that standard. This statement is based on our own review of the website and app.
1.2 What we have built in:
- The website has a "Skip to content" link, a main landmark, a language setting, headings, and labels on its navigation and sections.
- Keyboard focus is shown with a visible outline on both the website and the app.
- Both respect the "reduce motion" setting on your device.
- Both support light and dark colour schemes that follow your device setting.
- Most of the app's controls are real buttons and form fields with labels, and feedback messages are announced to screen readers.
- The account window keeps keyboard focus inside it while open and returns focus when it closes.
- Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
- The website works on a phone-sized screen and does not block zooming.
2. Known limitations
We know about these problems and are working to fix them:
- Colour contrast. Some text and indicators do not have enough contrast with their background, including some gold accent text in the app, the keyboard focus outline on the website in light mode, and the grey used for locked steps on the roadmap.
- Image descriptions. All question images currently share the same generic description ("Clinical image for this question"), so a blind or low-vision user may not be able to answer questions that depend on the image.
- No skip link in the app. The app has no "skip to content" link, so keyboard users must move through the header buttons to reach the main content.
- Time limits. Milestone, final and mock exams are timed and the time cannot yet be extended. If you need more time, email us and we will help.
3. Alternative formats and help
3.1 If you cannot use part of StudyDerm because of a disability, or need information in a different format, email support@studyderm.app. Tell us the page, what you tried to do, and the technology you use if you are happy to share it. Please write from the email address you sign in with, so that we can find your account if the problem is specific to it.
3.2 You do not need to tell us about a disability or health condition to get help. If you choose to, please share only what we need to help you. How we use and keep that information is set out in our Privacy Policy (section 3.6).
3.3 We will reply within 5 working days. Where we can, we will give you the information or help in another way, for example by describing an image by email or helping you manage your subscription directly.
4. Reporting accessibility problems
If you find a problem not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, email support@studyderm.app. We will reply within 5 working days.
5. Enforcement procedure
As a service provider, we have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you contact us with a complaint and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which gives free advice about discrimination and equality.
6. Technical information
6.1 StudyDerm relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript to work with your browser. The website can be read without JavaScript. The brand name and the links to the app need JavaScript. The app needs JavaScript and shows a message if it is turned off.
6.2 Pages run by others that you reach from StudyDerm, such as Stripe's payment and billing pages and external source links inside explanations, are not covered by this statement.
7. Preparation of this statement
7.1 This statement was prepared on 22 October 2026, based on our own review of the website and app. It is not based on an independent audit.
7.2 We will review this statement at least once a year and whenever we make major changes, and update it as we fix the problems in section 2.
